Bringing a Change

 

I consider myself very lucky to be raised in a diverse community. It has given me the opportunity to learn from and appreciate the different cultures around me. However, I remember all through my growing years how odd it was that I saw very few people that looked like me, similar in race or ethnicity represented in the movies, media, fashion, advertising, sports, and more.

I was confused at first and curious as I grew older by the lack of representation. I decided to be an active participant in making a change. I have a strong passion for South Asian representation and in general, people of color.  I believe that we should all collectively contribute to overcome this lack of representation.

​

This website is a platform for me to ‘Shine A Spotlight’ on people that are making a difference through their work. I want to share stories and experiences of people carving their path and making a difference all around us. I will post articles and interviews in a podcast format in the ‘Bringing a Change’ section.

POV College Corner

 

As a high school junior, I’m going through the process of identifying and narrowing my college wishlist. I realized quickly that there’s only so many college visits I can do.  In my opinion, the best way to get a holistic understanding of college experience from a student POV is by engaging with someone that is going through the journey. 

 

In my 'POV College Corner' section on the website, I delve into the academic as well as the social and fun aspects that make the college experience whole. Every post/entry will feature a new college and student experience at that college. I hope that this will be another helpful tool for my friends and peers as it is for me to get a better understanding of a college and student experience and identify if it is a good fit.
